No. 1

Amendment to the retirement plan of this house

The grandchildren have reviewed the jar. They have notes.

01

The name

The plan styled 401(k) will answer to 401. The (k) stays in the family history and leaves the ticker. The ticker is $KID.

02

The jar

Notes were folded. Cents were kept. The jar sat in the kitchen, which was the point: anyone walking past could see the saving happen. This amendment does not empty it. It asks what the waiting was for.

A glass mason jar packed with folded bills and coins, the wordmark 401KID laid across the glass.
Fig. 2 He called it savings.

03

The clock

Retirement keeps its name and gives up the calendar. A gold watch was the ending he was promised. A rocking chair was the furniture. The new plan keeps the kitchen and changes the prize.

04

The heirs

One of them filled the jar. The next one learned a chart before learning the chair. Same house, different clock. $KID is the argument, left where anyone can read it.
